Certified Systems and Standards
Our health and safety systems meet AS/NZS 4801 standards and align with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
We hold SiteWise Green and Impac PreQual 5-Star accreditations — independent verification that our policies, training, and procedures meet New Zealand’s highest benchmarks. These certifications confirm that our people, processes, and leadership are fully committed to safe, compliant operations across every site.
Training and Awareness
Every City Cleaning team member receives full induction and site-specific training before starting work. This includes instruction in:
Hazard identification and control
Safe chemical handling
PPE use and maintenance
Manual handling
Incident and near-miss reporting
Emergency procedure
We also run regular refresher sessions and toolbox talks to keep safety top of mind. Supervisors complete ongoing leadership and first aid training, ensuring every team has someone equipped to handle safety issues confidently and calmly.
In-House Electrical Testing & Maintenance
City Cleaning employs its own qualified electrician to Test & Tag all equipment nationwide, ensuring compliance, safety, and reliability across every site.
Our in-house Test & Tag specialist manages a detailed compliance calendar and audits all cleaning equipment to maintain full alignment with health and safety standards. By keeping this service internal rather than outsourcing as many competitors do we maintain tighter control over quality, respond faster to equipment issues, and ensure consistent, high-standard performance across the country.
This proactive approach not only safeguards our teams and clients but also reduces downtime, helping every City Cleaning site operate smoothly and safely.
Real-Time Reporting and Visibility
Technology keeps our safety management transparent and proactive. Using our digital cloud-based technology, we record and track all site incidents, inspections, and safety audits in real time.
This digital system ensures prompt reporting, accurate documentation, and clear accountability — giving both our teams and clients full visibility. From mobile check-ins to corrective action logs, we can demonstrate compliance at any time.
