Reporting directly to the NZ Operations Director and sitting on our Senior Management Team, you’ll have full accountability for the leadership, performance and operational excellence of City Cleaning Services across the Northern Region – from Taupō to the top of the North Island.
This is a high-impact role that blends strategic leadership with hands-on operational oversight. You’ll directly lead a team of Account Managers, Area Managers and Site Team Leaders, drive business development, manage financial performance, and ensure our clients receive consistently outstanding service across a large and complex geography.

What You’ll Be Doing
Your day-to-day cleaning duties will include (but aren’t limited to):
Provide daily operational leadership across all Northern Region sites, ensuring contracted services are delivered to specification
Lead, coach and develop Account Managers, Area Managers and Site Team Leaders across the region
Own the financial performance of the region – monitoring labour costs, margins and profitability, and reporting regularly to the CEO and SMT
Drive business development by identifying new opportunities, supporting tender responses, and growing strategic client accounts
Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a senior point of contact for key accounts
Ensure full health, safety and environmental compliance across all Northern Region operations
Identify and address resourcing, capability and coverage gaps to maintain consistent service delivery
Contribute to QA practices, SOPs and operational improvement initiatives as part of the Senior Management Team









What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
Extensive operational management experience across multiple sites within a large geographical region
Demonstrated success leading multi-tiered operational teams (Account Managers, Area Managers, Site Leaders)
Proven financial acumen – margin management, labour planning and cost control
Strong business development capability, including tendering, pricing and client relationship management
Sound understanding of NZ Health, Safety & Environmental compliance requirements
Excellent communication skills – credible and effective from frontline staff through to senior leadership
Full Class 1 NZ driver licence and legal right to work in NZ
Willingness and ability to travel frequently throughout the Northern Region
Desirable: Tertiary qualification in Business, Operations or Leadership; experience in cleaning, FM or service industries
